Grant Description
Grants of up to $20,000 to West Virginia faculty members at institutions of higher education for the purchase of modern equipment that will improve interest in science, math, technology, and engineering disciplines. Funding is intended for the acquisition of instruments to furnish undergraduate laboratories or to encourage the submission of proposals to NSF research, instrumentation, and STEM education programs. Proposals in any STEM field will be considered.

The instruments should be used primarily for instructional purposes, but may also be used to enhance faculty research programs that actively include undergraduates as primary participants. Faculty are strongly encouraged to utilize STaR support as a foundation for more advanced and competitive proposals.
