The mission of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is to actively promote physical well-being, encourage teamwork, stress the value of education, and provide essential life skills to young people in the community through youth hockey and other activities.

The Foundation fulfills grants on the basis of the four pillars of the organizations. To be considered the interested organization must fit into one of these categories:

  • Exception - high school or school-based hockey teams

  • Applicant’s program pertains to health care, physical activity, awareness, or anything directly impacting the health and wellness of children.

  • Applicant’s program directly provides knowledge to children and young adults. After-school programs, STEAM/STEM programs, museums, and other groups are included.
  • Exception - high schools and colleges seeking funds for programs, student organizations, field trips, etc.

Community Development:

  • Applicant’s program directly impacts the betterment of their community. The program provides services to community members, provides training and mentorship, or makes their community a better place to live and work.
