Grants of up to $10,000 to USA police and fire departments to support canine units and service dogs throughout the country. Funding is intended for new and existing units to purchase canines and canine safety vests. Consideration will also be given to other service needs.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation can only distribute grants to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations. Although police and fire departments are tax-exempt organizations, they do not typically hold 501(c)(3) designation and thus, must show support from a 501(c)(3) organization that is willing to accept funding on the department’s behalf.

Each application must come from a police or fire department with support from a charity or police foundation. Charities outside the police and fire department are not eligible to apply on their own.

Pre-Application Information:

The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation will accept applications from September 1 to December 31, 2020. Grant awards will be made at the discretion of the Foundation on a rolling basis. Announcements will not be tied to the Steelers’ schedule. Late or incomplete applications will NOT be accepted.
